Single Hand Spey Casting

So today I went out to shake off some of the winter blues on a creek behind my house to show some of the single hand spey casts I use on that particular piece of water.

Here is the link to youtube:

I was using a Snowbee Prestige 4 piece, 9'6 7 wt rod, 9ft leader with yarn attached, and the Snowbee XS WF8F two tone line.

thanks,

Swinging on the Niagara River

Well our first outing of 2010 brought us to the mighty Niagara River. After a 2.5 hr drive to the Saugeen and finding out it was frozen solid. Our thrive for swinging a fly that day lead us to the Niagara, another 5-6hr drive.

We called up our buddy Alex, who backyard is the Niagara. Sure enough he was in, and to show us the river. Might sound a little crazy but it was worth the trip to end up there. The scenery was absolutely stunning.

The river has a beautiful green tinge to it with fast flowing waters, and drifts that would make any Spey fisherman druel. I had one good hit, just missed the hook set as well as my friend Randy. It was all worth the trip.
Then we all gathered up in one spot and tried out some news lines and had some coffee on the bank. Just enjoying everyone's company for the remander of the afternoon. A trip not to be forgotten, and a river that I will be heading back to again.

Here are some pics for the day:
